The 1st Kew Cub Scouts are aged 8 to 10 years and meet on Thursdays between 7PM and 8.30PM. The 1st Kew Cub pack love exploring the outdoors, discovering and learning interesting things!

 

If you enjoy fun, games, making friends, being part of a team and learning new skills then you’ll love being a 1st Kew Cub Scout! 

 

ACTIVITIES

Cubs go on camps, and attend Cuborees with hundreds of other Cub Scouts, From learning things like how to use a compass, going on bush walks and bike trips to trying out exciting things like sailing, canoeing, abseiling and sometimes even flying!

Cubing is about learning, belonging, and having fun. Our activities are designed to stimulate the emotional and adventurous spirits whilst helping develop teamwork and leadership skills. Being part of the 1st Kew Pack and small teams called Sixes allow our Cubs to learn life-long skills, make friends and have a lot of fun is a safe and secure environment.

BADGES

The Cub Award Scheme has three parts: the Boomerang Scheme; the Achievement Badge Scheme; and the Grey Wolf Award. 

​

  • Boomerang Scheme is the major part of Cub training and helps achieve strong values and responsibility, outdoor and other specialist  skills, creativity and world and community awareness. Split into three levels of Bronze, Silver and Gold based around the four  categories of Art and Literature; Nature, Science and Technology; Sport and Recreation; and Our World. 

  • A Cub can earn a number of special interest badges as well.

  • The Grey Wolf Award is the ultimate for any Cub and is achieved following the completion of the Gold boomerang and several other activities.
