At 1st Kew, Scouting provides fun youth development activities, building resilient and confident boys and girls aged 5 to 18 in the Joey Scout, Cub Scout, Scout, and Venturer Scout Sections. We also welcome adult volunteer Scout Leaders. We have opportunities for the whole family to be involved.

Scouting can offer endless possibilities. Just have a look at some of the Scouting activities that out Joeys, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers have been getting up to in our gallery. Scouting is unique in that it encompasses so many different types of activities and skills in a safe and fun environment, giving our youth a ‘taste’ for learning new skills, that could lead them to future hobbies, adventures or even careers.

Since its inception in 1908-09, the 1st Kew Scouts have been dedicated to the ideal that young people will make better citizens and be happier individuals if their natural enthusiasm and desire for adventure is driven by a sense of purpose and achievement. It is a framework within which important ‘life skills’ can be learned, such a leadership, self-reliance, initiative, community spirit, teamwork, first aid, care for the environment, and responsibility.

The 1st Kew Scout Group is one of the oldest in Australia and is part of Boroondara, one of the most successful Districts in Victoria. The 1st Kew Scouts have been a key part of our local community for over 100 years and we continue to grow as parents believe in the benefits and teachings that Scouting has to offer and want to make it available to their children.

Everyone is welcome, and we value the diversity of our members. Find out more about the Sections below:
